Room 1408

I watched a movie called 1408 yesterday and I think it’s good. The movie was about a writer or should I say a paranormal writer (Mike Enslin) for most of his books are more on paranormal genre. For all the spooky places that his gone too he does not believe in ghost. He received a postcard informing him not to go to room 1408. The hotel manager informed Mike Eslin that no one can lasted for an hour on that room. Even with the hotel manager’s warning he still insisted to stay for a night in that said room and from there he had unnatural experiences where he had hallucination. The story somewhat showed Eslins life and what happened to him before. He was before a loving father and because of the death of his daughter he left his wife. On the later part of the movie, he saw his daughter and she died on his arms. I personally believe in paranormal things even though I haven’t seen a ghost and of course I don’t wish to see one (lol). But why does a person looses his faith each time they encounter a loss or hardship? I’d say instead of doing what Eslin did where he left his wife when his daughter died, I say that it is a perfect time for us to live for each other. We should support one another for we are not the only person who is hurt for loosing the one we loved. And why should we loose our faith to God when we know that those who die go to heaven with him. Instead of not believing in Him maybe we should ask Him to take care of our love one. I learned from that movie and the best thing I’ve learned is to never loose faith.

The People and Political Crisis

I‘m a career woman, all I think about is work and my family. But each time I’m on my way to work I always feel disappointed and the same time I felt pity for those people living on the street. I mean, most of the people blame those people living on the streets for they said they are the ones responsible for who they are right now. I guess part of it is true but the other is caused by our government. Most of the people that I can see running around the streets are children and elder people. Those types of people are not capable of living by themselves and they need help. And while those people are looking for ways to survive the day, all you see on TV are the Government and the Opposition fighting. I completely understand that they don’t like each other and they both have reasons of their own. But I guess for those in the oppositions instead of focusing on how they can have the president resign, I think it will be better if they focus on helping their country that way they can prove their selves to all the people and at the same time they can help everyone. And as for the President, I personally don’t think that resigning will resolve all of our issues. Because number one, we don’t know what kind of leader will be the next president and I guess the President should prove herself by not focusing on how to fight back those who opposes her but instead she should prove them wrong by doing all her best and by focusing on how our country will improve. If she can prove herself and what she is capable of I don’t those persons will oppose her anymore. Although we all know that we cannot please everyone there are always those people who will think they are better than you. But we need to show them that they are wrong by doing the right thing and by focusing in our job. Right now, I feel so sad for all those people who are struggling to survive I mean we all are the only difference in my position is at least I have a job that I can depend to. I really feel sorry for those who are homeless for this kind of economy that we have it’s really hard to find a job. I pray that everyone in our Government will do their job well and those homeless people will at least experience a normal life.

No to Sunburn...

Going for a summer vacation is good but we need to be careful on getting sunburn. I mean we all want to get a rest and enjoy beautiful scenery with our family and friends. But having sunburn is quite not a good idea. It happened to me the last time I went to the beach I enjoyed my first two days swimming but after that I suffered for a day or two because of sunburn. I searched for some tips and steps on how you can prevent sunburn.
1. Beware of cloudy days. Clouds and particulate matter in the air scatter sunlight. You can still burn even on a cloudy day.
2. Wear a good pair of sun glasses and some kind of protection -- the looser the better -- on your head.
3. If you are among those likely to burn, use a sun block with a PF of 15 or greater. An ounce of sun block will effectively cover your entire body.
4. Apply sun block at least 15 to 30 minutes before venturing out into the sun and re-apply at least every two hours especially if you have been swimming or perspiring.
5. Use sun blocks with higher PFs on areas that need extra protection like the tip of your nose, your ears, the tops of your feet, and your shoulders.
6. Do not use sun block on your lips. Instead, use only sun protection products designed specifically for lips.
7. Protect your children. Keep them from excessive sun exposure when the sun is strongest and apply sunscreen liberally and frequently to children 6 months of age and older.
8. Do not use sunscreen on children under 6 months of age. Parents with children under 6 months of age should severely limit their children's sun exposure.

Janina San Miguel

Janina San Miguel was crowned as Bb Pilipinas Miss World on the last Binibining Pilipinas that was held in Quezon City. Janina was nervous on the question and answer portion and had a hard time answering the judge’s question. Most of the people questioned why she was chosen to represent Philippines in the next Miss World pageant. Based on my opinion Janina is beautiful and we all know that entering a beauty pageant especially if it is your first time entering will be something that you’ll get nervous. I think we should all just support her on the next pageant that she’ll attend to. It is something that Janina can improve, she’ll just have to practice and practice to avoid that kind of incident to happen again.

Life Back Then

I woke up early yesterday (5:00AM) even though my work starts at 1PM which is weird because I should still be sleeping around those times. While trying to think of what to do, I thought of my old friends. You see, back then I have close friends who are always with me. We always hang out with each other every summer even though we don’t have anything to do. I thought that life was much easier back then. My life evolves around my friends, my hobbies, and family. Sometimes, I think it will be much better if it all stayed the same. Right now, what I’m always thinking is how to earn money and how to enjoy my life. I am happy right now but the happiness that I experienced before is different from the happiness that I am experiencing right now. Before we just always talked about our crush and we’re happy just by discussing those things. Now, we don’t hang out anymore. They have their own family and I have my work that consumes all my time. On my way to work, I was thinking of calling one of my close friends in college. I called her up and she’s crying. I asked her why and she said “It’s my husband. I don’t think I had made the right decision marrying him.”. Without knowing anything about those things, I had nothing to say but to advise her to try to talk with her husband about the issue. After we end the call, I was thought that marriage really is a serious thing. I’ve learned that marriage is not something that you can just decide easily unless you are ready to face the married life. Right now, I am not ready to have a family yet. Having your own family is really good but it is something that you should think carefully and you have to prepare yourself. I just focus on my career for now.

Tough Day!

I had a hard time going to work today. Last week, there’s news on TV that there will be a transportation strike and I ignored it. Because I was able to go to work early and I had no problem looking for a bus last time they had a strike. I thought that their just scaring off everybody by saying that there will be no busses next week. Today my work starts around 1PM. I thought of getting off to work at least an hour and a half early so that I can be there 30mins before my time. But today, I’m so frustrated since I wasn’t able to get a bus and I’ve been waiting for one for almost 30mins and still not a single bus wont’ show up. I tried to get a cab but still there’s a problem. All of us want to get to wherever we want to go and the only way we can get a ride to get a cab. I waited for one and finally, there’s an available cab. It’s really a bad day for me because aside from having a hard time looking for a cab, it’s really hot outside since its summer, and I’m almost late. Good thing that I wasn’t late but still I am a bit upset about what’s happening. These folks won’t do this if they don’t have any issues. They are on strike because they are upset about the continuing increase on the price of gas which definitely affects them. I just hope that the government will come up a solution on this issue so that none of these things will happen again in the future and I know that giving up one day was a tough decision for the drivers. Because they earn on a daily basis and without earning for a day means no money and their family will also suffer. I guess all of us are just having a tough day and I wish everyone to be OK.

Summer Vacation

I’m so excited to going to the beach next week. You see, I was not able to go anywhere for almost 17 years now so you’ll probably understand why I am so excited. I can remember that our place is near the beach and we have a small place where we eat together every morning. When I was there, I usually take a walk each morning with my mother and we usually go to the nearest supermarket to buy our food. Sometimes I do think that life in a province is better than life here in the city. But there’s always advantage and disadvantages. You see, life in the province is peaceful unlike here in the city where you’ll think of everything and it’s really stressful. But I will definitely miss my life here if I’ll live in our province. But anyway, I will never live in our province because I have my work here and I love my work. And yet, I am really excited to have my vacation with my family and friends.

My Favorite Book

I like to read books because I think it’s really fun. I started to love reading books when I was in grade school. The first book that I bought was Hardy boys: The Mummy Case”. I enjoyed that book a lot. I’ve read it for a couple of times (lol). The story of that book is about 2 brothers and they are both detectives. They were asked by their father to help a museum curator to ship a mummy back to Egypt. Before they’ve gone to Egypt a mysterious thing had happened where the two men they were both together with were drugged by somebody. They had their adventure all the way to Egypt and it turns out that someone wants to steal the mummy that they were delivering to Egyptian Museum. And that person is someone working inside the museum back on US. The reason why I decided to write about this book is because I was cleaning my room last night and I found it inside a small box. After that book, I bought other Hardy Boys books but my mom gave those books to my cousins. I also read other books aside from Hardy Boys books. I’ve read Sydney Sheldon’s “Sands of Time” and much more. I am sorry I can’t remember those books anymore it

Getting a Sleep during Daytime

Getting a sleep during daytime is really hard especially for those who work during night time. I used to work during nightshifts before. On my first month working on a graveyard schedule, I was really having a hard time to find a sleep. Then some of my co-workers gave me some tips that really worked for me. And now, I would like to share those tips especially to those who can’t get to sleep during daytime.
  • If you are too tired to sleep, don’t go to bed yet. Try to do something else and you’ll eventually become sleepy.
  • Like myself I always like to sleep in the dark. In this case, you will need to use something that will cover your windows such as blankets, curtain, foil, etc. Or you can also use an eye mask.

  • Sometimes I use to play music to get a sleep. And if your case is different, find a quiet place in your house where you can sleep or you can also use ear plugs.

  • I also read books if I want to sleep.

These are the things that helped me get a sleep during daytime. So if you are having problems getting sleep, you might want to try these tips because it worked for me and I may also work for you.

Many Paquiao’s Fight this March 15, 2008

A lot of Filipinos are excited to watch Manny Paquiao’s fight this March 15, 2008. Each time they watch their favorite boxer, they tend to stay at home and watch it with their friends. Like my Uncle, he watches the fight with his friends and at the same time they are drinking. There are lots of things I observed during these days (during Manny’s fight). The streets are empty, meaning there are only few vehicles outside and a lot of people are at their home watching TV. Everyone is watching TV and for the meantime they forget all other issues especially political issues. I’m not much of a boxing fan but I’ m sure of one thing, these are the times that most of us forget everything. Instead we focus ourselves on his fight. This coming fight, our cable service provider offers a service where you can subscribe to watch Manny Paquiao’s fight without any commercials and my Uncle wants to subscribe for it. I guess he is too excited and he wants to watch it without any interruptions. Again this March 15, 2008, everyone will be focused on their TV sets until the fights over.

Stuck in Traffic

It’s Monday and what I hate the most during this day of the week is “traffic”. Yes traffic is very frustrating in my place. You see if you need to go to work and you wish to be there on time, you’ll have to leave at least an hour and a half early from your place. Each time I’m stuck in traffic I always think why wouldn’t our Government do something about this? And sometimes I wished that flying cars are real (lol). The only thing I usually do to avoid the boring life while being stuck in a heavy traffic is, I always bring my mp3 player with me and I’ll just listen to my favorite music. Listening to my favorite music will help me calm myself and forget about the traffic that I’m stuck with. It’s only Monday so I guess I have to prepare myself for another 4 days of early morning traffic.
